Week 7 has been buzzing with activities in the lead up to the final two weeks of the school year. On Monday, it was a joy to welcome families to our Kindergarten Transition Day 2, as we saw our 2026 kindergarteners stepping into their new learning environment. On Thursday, selected Year 9 students explored future career pathways through the Explore STEM Day at Edith Cowan University, while our Debating Club members from Years 7 to 9 sharpened their skills in another round of friendly competition. Today, our Year 8 students participated in Community Service Day, packing Christmas hampers for those in need at the Salvation Army in Midland – an important opportunity to serve others during the Christmas season. Also today, 16 of our Visual Arts students in Years 9, 10 and 11 took part in a preparation session for their upcoming Visual Art Tour to Italy in March 2026. We look forward to seeing many of you at our Community Christmas Carols this evening on the Junior School Oval, with gates opening at 6:00pm for BYO picnics and carols commencing at 7:00pm.

Looking ahead to 2026, we will continue our policy of no mobile phone use during school hours. As a result, students will need to bring a physical EFTPOS card or cash if they wish to purchase items from the café at recess or lunch.
We are still seeing a number of students without a physical card, which leads them to borrow from Student Services for a lunch voucher. This process is time-consuming and intended only for genuine emergencies.
We encourage families to use the upcoming holiday period to ensure your child has a physical EFTPOS card ready for the 2026 school year.

We are pleased to share that the Kalamunda Bus Service will continue to be available to families in 2026.
The cost for full-time use for the year will be $702 per student, charged to your tuition account. This service is partially subsidised by the College.
As this is a privately contracted service with limited seating, families will need to secure a booking. Part-time use is also available (e.g., three days per week or afternoons only), with charges applied on a pro-rata basis.
Please note that this is not a casual-use service, and unused days cannot be refunded.
If you would like to book a place for your child for 2026, please email erin.vallance@swan.wa.edu.au with your requirements for next year.

As part of the New Midland Station Project, the Public Transport Authority has advised that Transperth services on the Midland Line between Midland and Bassendean will be cancelled from Thursday 22 January to Sunday 22 February 2026.
This closure may affect students and staff who regularly travel to the College using this service. Train replacement buses will be in operation during the shutdown, however we strongly encourage families to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel during this period.
Transperth will be conducting a full awareness campaign to notify passengers, but we recommend checking the latest updates directly via their website: www.transperth.wa.gov.au
Thank you for your understanding as this public transport upgrade progresses.

Parents are advised that the Midland Schoolwear Outlet will close temporarily over the Christmas and New Year period. Families are encouraged to plan ahead for any uniform purchases required for the 2026 school year.
Please note the closure dates and extended trading hours below.
