Week 7 has been a lively week across the College, with students engaging in service, celebration, and cultural learning. Our Year 10 students returned today from their Service Learning CAPS trip to Coolgardie, where they spent the week serving and learning in a regional community. Languages Week brought a vibrant mix of activities, including French bowls, origami, and our Multilingual Chill Wednesday. On Tuesday, Junior School students and their dads enjoyed a special Father’s Day breakfast. We also welcomed over prospective families at our College Twilight Tour on Thursday evening. Today, we celebrated the vital work of our Education Assistants with a staff morning tea, while selected Junior School students represented Swan at the WACSSA Cross Country Carnival.
Looking ahead, we look forward to hosting local pastors for morning tea on Monday. That evening, our Year 12 Drama students will showcase their talents in a special performance. From Wednesday to Friday, our Year 5 students will enjoy an exciting three-day camp, and to finish the week, the Swan Trade Training Centre will host a Father’s Day event on Friday. We would like to wish all our fathers and father figures a very blessed and happy Father’s Day. Thank you for all you do to support our children. The value of your role cannot be measured.
Looking ahead to next week:
"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me."
For the safety of all students, parents and guardians are reminded not to drop off or pick up children on the southbound side of Great Northern Highway. Students must never attempt to cross Great Northern Highway under any circumstances.
All pick-ups and drop-offs are to take place on College grounds only.
We thank our College community for working together to keep our students safe.
In December 2024 we shared that we will transition from Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to a Managed Device Program across all SCEA schools.Â
Our desire is to support your parenting, not add to its challenges, and we are staging the rollout of the Managed Device Program to avoid families having to replace recently purchased devices.Â
There will be provisions for families who may face genuine financial hardship through the new program.Â
Next week, please look out for an email with details about the rollout across the year groups. In the meantime, please do not purchase a new device.Â

We’re excited to invite families to this year’s Junior School production, Hop It, Poppit!, presented by Fenceline Theatre. This original performance promises a delightful mix of humour, heart and important life lessons.
What it’s about
Somewhere far, far away, a king and a queen lived in a castle, surrounded by their royal subjects – except the subjects were not so loyal. The people of the kingdom had grown tired of their king’s unkindness. Over time, he had become harsh and cruel, ignoring the queen’s gentle warnings. Then one day, something strange happened: the prince mysteriously turned into a frog and hopped right out of the kingdom!
Our Junior School students will bring this colourful and meaningful story to life through song, movement and drama. It’s a production the whole family will enjoy.

The Screen Pathways Initiative of The Borrowed Song is an innovative short film project that unites industry filmmakers, university graduates, and Swan Christian College students and staff in a unique mentoring experience.
Students from Swan Christian College were at the heart of the project – performing the music, writing, acting, and contributing creatively to the film.
In the months ahead, students will take part in a competition to edit, colour grade, and work on post-production audio using the film’s footage. Guided by Dr Owen Beck, they will receive hands-on coaching as they bring their own version of the film to life.
Prizes and Opportunities
Win prizes including a $5,000 camera from Midland Camera House (with more than one prize available)
Enter completed films into festivals
Gain real-world industry experience and mentoring
This initiative demonstrates the power of collaboration between education and industry, giving students practical tools and pathways to succeed in the screen and creative arts.
Students can participate in the competition by getting in touch with Dr Owen Beck.
