Candid Conversations About Sexuality

Mount Pleasant Baptist Church will be holding a week of candid conversation that explores the topic of sexuality. The program has a variety of topics for youth, young adults, men and women, parents, couples, pastors and also for the wider community. Topics include but are not limited to “Birds and the Bees by the Book”, “Good Sex and Godly Marriage”, “Purity in a Pornified World” and much more. Endeavour College of Natural Health (Open Day)

Endeavour College of Natural Health (formerly known as the Australian College of Natural Medicine) is committed to the future and success of Natural Health both in Australia and internationally. Endeavour is Australia’s largest provider of Higher Education to the complementary medicine sector. CRU 2018 Year 12 Camp

CRU Camps are excited to again support the running of a study camp in Western Australia in Winter.

CRU Year 12 Study Camps provide the ideal study environment free from the distractions students face while studying at home alone. Plus our experienced Christian leadership teams help students combat low productivity and procrastination, supporting them as they face the challenges of Year 12.

Our proven Study Camp formula features:

  • A minimum of 6 hours supervised study each full day of camp
  • Assistance from experienced leaders and teachers in a variety of subjects
  • The opportunity to stay motivated and swap notes with fellow WACE students
  • New friends and great activities to help you switch off during breaks
  • Great food and coffee stations to keep the mind pumping
  • A chance to hear about the Christian faith and chat about life, God, worldviews and more
  • Great accommodation, dining and study facilities

Sports Plus Camp 2018

Sports Plus is a 6-day fully residential camp with an intense week of specialist sports coaching and team competitions for young athletes who are serious about sport and play regularly in a club or team. Choose one of six sports to get coaching in: cricket, tennis, netball, soccer, AFL footy, or basketball (note hockey has been cancelled for 2018). It is an event of On Mission Games and has been run for over 20 years in the UK by Christians in Sport. Sports Plus has no official association with Christians in Sport but has modified the Sports Plus model used in the UK.

This program will run from Sunday 1 July, 3:00pm until Friday 6 July, 12:00pm. The program is available for young people from Years 7 – 12 who are passionate about improving in their sport and it is the perfect way to explore the Christian faith and what it means to be a Christian sports player.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Courses in Perth Schools

The 14 Hour Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Course was developed in Australia and is now taught in 30 countries worldwide. There is considerable research into the effectiveness of MHFA courses and there are many high profile advocates,  American President Barack Obama mentioned this program in speeches about effective Mental Health support and management of violence in American Schools.  

Participants are eligible for accreditation with Mental Health First Aid Australia.* All participants will receive a certificate of participation and a resource book that contains all of the information provided in the course. The course is for people who live or work with adolescents or young adults (12-18 age group), or any interested adult. The material is relevant to people outside this age group.

This course will be held at the following two locations in Perth schools:

Penrhos College, Como
Monday 16 July and Tuesday 17 July

Yule Brook College, Maddington
Wednesday 18 July and Thursday 19 July
