Over the next few weeks, Semester 1 academic reports will be available through SEQTA Engage. These reports outline the progress students have made in their learning so far this year. Combined with the upcoming Parent Teacher Student interviews we can celebrate our learners’ successes, identify areas that need addressing and plan to improve them over the remainder of the school year.

Further information regarding the Parent Teacher Student interviews will be communicated to parents later this week.

Just as teachers provide verbal feedback to students and give written feedback on assessments and through reporting to help them improve aspects of their learning, the College seeks feedback from our community. Sometimes this feedback is sought through surveys such as the Learning@home survey sent home to families at the end of Term 1.

As our learners need feedback when they need to improve in an area, so does the College. Sometimes members of our community are not sure who to approach when they have a concern or a suggestion on how we could improve. The College has developed a ‘Parent Communication with the School Procedure’ to direct parents to the person who is in the best position to assist them or receive their feedback.

If you feel that after following this procedure, your concern is still not addressed you are welcome to lodge a formal complaint via email to . Our Complaints Manager will acknowledge receipt of your complaint and initiate a process to resolve the issue. All complaints are logged into our Complaints Register. The full procedure is available in SEQTA Engage under the documents tab.  If you would like a hard copy, please contact the Complaints Manager on the email address listed above.

The College has also introduced a child friendly complaints system that all children were shown at the beginning of the school year. While the system is paper based children can also use the email and can raise concerns using the Stymie website ( Concerns raised on the Stymie website are anonymous.

We also appreciate receiving positive feedback and members of the College community are welcome to use the feedback@swan email to let us know what we are doing well.

Speaking of reports, the 2019 College Compliance Report will be available on the College website from July 1.

God bless
