The Year 9 Extension class has been working with the Energy Club of WA all year to have a look at the different aspects and career options open in this industry. The year finished off with a Student Expo Day at ECU Joondalup on Friday 25 November.
Our students’ knowledge, creativity skills, and critical thinking skills were pitted against students from other schools. They were challenged in areas such as using knowledge gained from the sessions through the year, to brain storming, solving problems using real world examples, using VR goggles to explore offshore oil rigs (a particular favourite!) and using PPE.
One of teams, The Salamanders, beat 57 other teams from over 12 schools to finish 1st on the day. Such a fantastic achievement! Their amazing first place prize is a helicopter underwater scape training and subsea survival experience from ERGT. Congratulations to all our teams.
