Health and Physical Education

The Physical Education program aims to expose students to a wide range of experiences that will encourage them to make lifelong commitments to active lifestyles.

Year 7 to 10

Throughout the Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 programs, students can participate in a range of courses that approach physical activity and teach active skills from a variety of different angles. The courses include Outdoor Education, Sports Performance and Management, Sport and Recreation and general Physical Education.

Health Education, which is taught in conjunction with a number of areas, is aimed at encouraging students to develop healthy thinking patterns in relation to a variety of issues faced in adolescent and adult decision making. We also offer a variety of sporting opportunities in these years that include an Interhouse afterschool sport competition, Interschool basketball, Interschool football and Interschool cricket. Swimming, Cross Country running and Athletics carnivals are held throughout the year and provide students in all year groups the opportunity to test and demonstrate their skills in these specialist sporting arenas.

Senior School students are able to contribute to the Interhouse afterschool sport competition, Interschool basketball, Interschool football and Interschool cricket. Female students also have the opportunity to compete at an interschool level in netball.
