The VET program at Swan Christian College encompasses three main areas:
-
Work Skills
The Year 10 Work Experience Program and Careers classes provide students with opportunities to develop work skills while continuing with their education. Year 11 and 12 students can participate in Structured Workplace Learning through the Worklink program. -
Training
Provides a broader range of VET related educational options through the introduction of Nationally Accredited Training Certificates into College teaching programs in Languages, Hospitality, Business Studies, Multimedia and Information Technology, Music, Sport and Recreation, and the extension of the school-based Pre-apprenticeship programs through the Swan Trade Training Centre. -
Resources
Provides improved and relevant career and study advice to all our students and their parents/guardians. The College holds a mini Careers Expo in The Swan Centre as part of the Parent/Teacher interviews evening at the end of Term 1. We have also created a more detailed and directed School-Career Transition program for our Year 11 and 12 students.
